| We'd been toying with the idea of getting some cows for some time. Justine found these calves available for sale at a dairy while I was in the hospital after my stroke of April 14, 2003. She got help from our neighbor to hook up the trailer and drove about 40 miles to pick them up near Lometa, Texas on 16 April, 2003. They were about 7-10 days old when she picked them up (all but the last photo) and there was a male (Roosevelt) and a female (Eleanor). Roosevelt is in front in the photo at right and below. They are Jersey/Brahma crosses. We can now say we have cattle... |
New cross breed calves the day they were picked up, still in the back of our trailer. That's 50 bales of pine shavings in the front of the trailer. |
