The
Happy Egg
Laid
06 August 2000

Our Barred Plymouth Rock
chickens lay a brown egg. The brown pigment isn't always spread evenly
over the egg and often there are dark patches near the large end of the
egg.
Here's an egg one of our
chickens laid on August 6, 2000. I was sorting the eggs collected
that day, and was floored when I turned the egg and noticed the discoloration
on the large end of the egg resembled a happy face.
These photos are
NOT touched up! Neither is the Egg!
The left
photo was taken with flash, the photo on the right was taken without flash.
