Driveway bench with plants ready
In Texas we get ready for Spring in February !!
We had just gone to Lowe's and bought vegetable plants, flower six-packs, grass seed, topsoil to fill the ruts the chickens had dug in the back yard and a couple of plum trees already blossoming.
Front shrub bed
Our front shrub bed.  We put pine bark mulch in there last year but the chickens scratched it all out, so this year it's white marble chunks.  I wanna see 'em scratch that out!!
Justine & window box planter
Justine is great with crafts.  She got the idea for these picket fence flower boxes from one of her craft books, and we built them together.  Marigolds go well with the sunflower yellow trim on the house.
Rear kitchen window & window box planter
Our kitchen window in the rear by the back door.  We have a radio on the flower box so we can listen to music while we're working or playing in the back yard.  That's a Giant Texas Fire Ant climbing on the flower box.  :o)
 (it's rubber)
Our mailbox, birdhouse, egg sign
Our mailbox by the road with our windmill egg sign and bird house in the background. The highway department accidentally ran over this mailbox in 2003 and the new one they replaced it with is silver. They moved the windmill up against the fence, also, claiming it was an accident hazzard.
The all powerful barbecue pit !
The barbecue has a prominent place on the back porch. In the summer (and winter, too!) I do a lot of the cooking outside.  Many a steak, pork chop, bratwurst, and brisket has been burnt to a crisp in this pit!!
