It is highly unusual to get much rain, if any, in Central Texas in August. We got NO rain during the entire month of July 2004, but it's now making up for it. We had 2.5 inches of rain on Thursday, 1 inch yesterday and right now it's REALLY coming down and we eventually got 4 more inches of rain today, 21 August 2004. That's 7 1/2 inches in 3 days!  Lampasas County is under a flash flood warning until 4PM today Central time.

The image below is the radar image from weather.com. We are located under the "red" stuff at the top left corner of the letter "K" in Killeen in the south east corner of the triangle that is Lampasas Country.  The storm just hung there for 2 hours or more.
