Sara, the Morgan Horse Mare - Page 1
April 18, 2002

It seems to work out that every April we end up with a new critter on the farm.  This year our neighbors, Keith and Punkin Belanger called on April 16, 2002 (coincidentally, my birthday) and asked if we know anyone who wanted a free horse.  Duhh!  Justine has wanted a horse every since we were first married!  Keith has recently retired and he and Punkin just bought a motor home and want to travel around the country.  Sara, their Morgan Horse mare is 27 years old and has been with them since she was two.  They needed to have someone take care of her so they can see the country and not be worried about her while they're gone.  Sara is in great shape for her age as you can see.  This is the first time Justine has led her and for a while I wasn't sure who was taking whom for a walk.  We've got plenty of fresh grass in our pasture this spring, so Sara thinks she's died and gone to "Horsey Heaven".
Justine is tickled pink !!
Justine is just tickled pink!
She's great looking for her age
She's in great shape for an old lady.
(Sara, NOT Justine... They're the same age !!)
Tex came along to make sure Justine's okay
Tex, the pomeranian, has to come along.
All this grass can make a whole herd of horses sick.
Plenty of yummy grass !!
Butthead, the tom turkey checking on the new addition
Butthead has to check out the new addition
You can't do a thing on the farm without Butthead putting his 2 cents in
Butthead is always underfoot since his running
buddy, Beavis passed away last month.
