New Stock Trailer
Barn
13 June 2002

Now that we have horses, we needed some way to haul them around.  We scanned the "Thrifty Nickel" shopper and classifieds in the local papers for a few weeks and looked at a few used horse trailers.  Most were priced way too high for used trailers and the ones that were more reasonably priced were in such poor shape that I wouldn't have trusted them to haul chickens, let alone horses...  We finally gave up on finding a used one for a reasonable price and decided to purchase a new stock trailer.  It's a "W-W" brand 14 ft model made in Oklahoma and cost just a little bit more than the used horse trailers we had looked at.  This way we can take all our critters where ever we want to (even the chickens!) Right after picking it up.
In the Sprint Corp. parking lot hooked to my '89 GMC pickup right after picking it up from the dealer. I picked it up on my lunch hour.
Lots of room for critters
Lots of room in there! We had the truck wired for the trailer brakes and lights the next day.
After getting it stenciled
Right after the logo and lettering was applied.
Spare tire mounting bracket, but no spare??
New Logo applied to both sides on front logo applied by All American Signs of Killeen, TX
We checked around and chose "All American Signs" in Killeen, Texas to do the lettering.  I told them what I wanted and faxed them rough sketches and they did an outstanding job of creating the designs and applying them to the trailer!
We also installed 3/4 thick floor pads inside.
We also installed 3/4 inch thick solid rubber
floor mats (from Tractor Supply) to the inside.
No spare tire yet...
The magnetic flag is from WalMart.
We still have to get a spare tire for it... :o(
Unloading wire spools for goat playground
We took it up to Hamilton, TX on Sept 8, 2004 to pick up 5 free wire spools from Hamilton County Electric Coop. Justine's unloading them next to the barn as part of a goat playground.
One more spool to be unloaded.
One more spool to be unloaded.  There are a couple sacks of pine shavings stored in there, too.
