| Both
of our pygmy nanny goats became pregnant as soon as we bought Little
Bill
to keep the girls company. On Christmas eve, Daisy looked like
she
was carrying her "watermelon" differently than she had been (lower and
not quite as wide) so we decided to play it safe. Since the
temperature
was forecast to get down to 28° that night, we put Daisy in a pen
in
the new barn with a heat lamp. There were about a dozen young RIR
hens in the pen, but we had no empty pen to put her in.
Justine went out to check on her around 9 AM Christmas morning and ran back to the house yelling at the top of her lungs: "We've Got Triplets!!!" |

We installed little food and water troughs for Daisy. |
Neither the kids nor the chickens knew quite what to make of each other. |
"Boy those are some weird looking chickens !" |
"What are all these funny looking two legged brown things in here ??" |
"There's one of them hiding under here. I think I'll check it out." |
